Nasty & Nasty & Nasty Winds

So, here it is 12:40am and we just pulled the kids out of bed for the second time tonight as the tornado sirens went off again. They went off earlier about 10:40pm. We’re all camped out in the living room with the weather radar on the TV ready to move to the hall at a moments notice if we need to. We decided to just have the kids sleep in the front room tonight. There have been a couple funnel clouds but nothing that has touched the ground… yet. This tornado warning is supposed to expire in about 10 minutes, but we have another round of this predicted to hit us again at around 2am. I’ll probably stay up as long as there’s a chance of bad weather, the tornado warnings are off and on but we’re under a watch until 5 or 6am. Ashlee is trying to sleep with the pounding rain and thunder going on along with the sound of the play by play weather people in the background on the TV and she just popped her head up and said, “All I heard them say is nasty and nasty and nasty winds.” It’s pretty funny, Becky is on Facebook with a lot of her friends in the ward as it seems most of us are all up watching the radar and wondering how we’re going to make it to church in the morning.

Dad’s Christmas Present

So I was watching “Invictus” and they had a preview for a Clint Eastwood collection, Clint Eastwood: 35 Films 35 Years at Warner Bros., that I thought would be cool to get dad for Christmas. It runs about $130 so I am taking up a collection for anyone who wants to contribute. I’ll include your name on the gift tag so keep it in mind when doing your Christmas shopping. 214 more days until Christmas…

Return to the Homeland

Hey all, just letting you know we’re going to be in AZ next month.  The cheapest flights we could get fly in the night of the 16th and out the afternoon of the 23rd.  (Sorry Dad, for flights sake, try to plan your birthday NOT on the last weekend of June next time.)  Hotevilla’s dance weekend is the 19th, so we’re going to that.  We’ll see whoever is around!

Hello from China!

Hey everyone! We just got an opportunity to finally use the internet over here long enough to post a hello! Things here are going great, with our shows in Beijing and Qingdao going very well. Last night we got in to Yantai and had a banquet with the government official here in charge of cultural and media related things and we are leaving to the theater for our show tonight in five minutes. Amy and I are having lots of fun and eating TONS of seafood. Hopefully we get a chance to post again in Shanghai!

Jacob’s Blessing Day

DSCN0134Hey everyone! This is just a heads up that we are probably going to be blessing Jacob on May 30th (Memorial Day weekend). We know that a lot of you are traveling to Cali for Chris’s graduation, so we don’t expect everyone to be able to come, but you are all certainly invited to come if you can and would like to.

We know it’s not a fast Sunday, but it’s a little better for my Dad being able to come out because of the holiday (one less day to take off of work). The 30th is not set in stone. . . there is some variability depending upon when my great grandma passes, which could be any day or in a number of weeks, or in a couple months. . . But if my mom has to go out for that, we may change the day so my Dad can come.

We will let you know if things change. But for now, it’s the 30th. Let us know if you can come. If you want, you can stay at our house, as long as you don’t complain too much about the mess. : )

Love,
Andrea

Grandma Helen Video

So Amy was trying to find a picture of my grandparents last night and found this neat little video where Grandma Helen tells the story of Coyote and the Winnowing Birds. I don’t ever remember seeing this video, so it was really neat to be able to see it. The majority of the video is in Hopi, but you have the options to watch it with subtitles or not. Anyways, hope you guys enjoy!
