Enlighten Art

Huzzah!

I finally have my website up and running for selling (hopefully!) some of my artwork.  Here is the link: http://enlightenart.webs.com/.

There’s NOT a lot on it right now–in fact right now there are only 2 pieces on there at all and only one piece that is available at all for purchase (because that’s the only one that I’ve gotten reproductions made up so far, as it’s EXPENSIVE).  I will be posting more as I get things completed and printed.  It will just take time and more money, which hopefully I’ll make from being able to sell stuff.

If you want to buy something, feel free.  Just please don’t take this as me pressuring you to buy.  Please only buy something if you REALLY really want it, not just because I made it.  Your honesty in what you are interested in will help guide me in making things that sell to the general public.  Also, if you are not used to buying art, the prices may seem high.  I have made my prices comparable to other artists selling similar types of things, and I promise I’m not overcharging. If these sell at these prices, I will barely turn out a profit.  <sigh>  Such is the life of a starving artist. . .

Anywho, if you DO want to buy a print of a piece, please DO NOT BUY IT ON THE SITE!  The Paypal system on there should work, but I do not know how much shipping will be yet (I will have to buy mailing and shipping supplies and find out how much the weight will be and all sorts of things, and that will have to be added to the cost).  So, if you really truly want one of the pieces, please EMAIL ME at my NEW BUSINESS EMAIL ADDRESS: ajf.enlightenart@gmail.com.  We can work things out from there.

If you have any questions about the site or my artwork, shoot me an email.  I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Thanks so much for all your support!  Wish me luck in this endeavor!

Love you guys,
Andrea

  1. Good luck to you in this endeavor, Andrea! Your art reminds me of Jan Brett’s work and we love her artwork. Do you happen to do landscapes or do you always include animals in your work? Landscapes tend to be more universal in decorating, if you’re considering the general public. . .right, beck?

  2. Thanks–I love Jan Brett’s stuff too. Maybe one of these days I’ll do children’s books. . . As for landscapes, I honestly haven’t done much with them. Actually, I am intending on doing things I haven’t ever done before really in art–going beyond my comfort zone, so to speak. I really want to do a lot more art featuring people, families, some Western/Southwestern themes, more that is religious-based in the broad sense (like showing families praying together or reading together or just more inspirational pictures). I am right now working on ideas for a still life loosely based on the parable of the ten virgins (showing things like a lamp, some small white flowers, maybe an olive branch, that sort of thing).

The pictures on my site so far are actually pieces I did in high school, which is the last time I sat down and seriously did big projects (because I was taking art classes), so that’s pretty old stuff, actually. But it was the best of what I have done so far at all that I feel like is even sales-worthy or up to par with my current abilities. Really this whole business is going to take lots of time, what with making more art and then having the money to get prints made. To get good-quality prints made up is really expensive. I got 10 prints made up total of one of my pieces (the other I only got scanned for future prints to be made), and it was over $300. So, yeah, really expensive. Too bad I don’t just have thousands of dollars to invest in it right now! : )
