Return on my investment

So, being the fully invested-in-BYU Football kind of fans that we are, we went to a car dealership in Orem for KSL’s Bronco Mendenhall show.  We went partly for the show, and partly for the free hamburgers and hot dogs.

In any case, there were also drawings to enter; for DVD’s, and a signed jersey, and for an iPod nano. The actual drawing was after the show, and you had to be there in order to win, so some of the names drawn weren’t there and they drew more. And so, the iPod was the last thing drawn, and who’s name should Greg Wrubell call out? Mine!

So, I’m the proud new owner of a silver iPod nano. And life is sweet.

James E. Faust

For those of you who haven’t heard, President Faust died early this morning.

Here is the story from ksl.com, including this quote:

Elder M. Russell Ballard, of the church’s Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, said, “In the 32 years that I’ve been a general authority, we’ve not had anyone in the leadership councils that has loved people any more, or served any more diligently or with any more heart than has James E. Faust.”

Amen. He will definitely be missed.

Sweetest haka ever!

As we should all know, the BYU football team does the Maori haka before every game. On a BYU sports message board I frequent, one of the posters found this video, and I think it’s pretty darn sweet.

It’s a girl!

Hey ya’ll!

As you should have guessed from the title, we found out that we’re having a little girl! That will be four nieces in a row since Nina. And there will be more nieces than nephews.

Anyway, here’s some pictures from the latest ultrasound. Hover you mouse over each thumbnail to see the title, and click the thumbnail to see/download the larger image. Enjoy!

You (may or may not have) heard it here first!

Hey everyone,

So, Andrea and I are looking for a new car. We were going to the Creamery on Ninth last night, and as we were in the left-turn lane, the driver in the lane closest to us stopped so we could turn. We couldn’t see anyone else coming in the other lane, so we started to turn, and another car came and hit us.

So, no one was hurt, and the other car wasn’t too damaged, but the front of ours was pretty wasted. So they towed it away, and the tow truck guy said since it’s moderately old and has moderately high mileage, our insurance company will probably want to just total it. We’ll see what they say.

So I talked to the guy we bought it from, and he’s working on a couple of cars that I’ll check out next week. So we’ll see how that goes.

So let this be a cautionary tale to you. Watch out for those left turns.
