Earth View

I found this a while back and I’m just now getting around to posting it. But Earth View is a view of Earth as it would look from the Sun. It’s updated to the second every time you hit the refresh button in your web browser. The link below is to the 1024 pixel image. You can change the size by scrolling down and inputing a new size near the bottom of the page:

Also visit the main page where you can see a map of the whole Earth showing day and night regioins, view the Earth from the Sun, Moon, or dark side, view any location on Earth via longitude and latitude, and even view the Moon from the Sun, Earth, or dark side. Their are many more interesting options you can select so you’ll just have to go and see for yourself:

New Diggs

Something looking different around here? About a week ago I finally managed to upgrade to WordPress 2.0.2. I had originally tried to upgrade a couple of months ago when version 2 first came out. But something went wrong and it wasn’t accessing the database correctly. Anyway, with the upgrade to the new version, the page to write posts has changed a bit. At some point I’ll put up an article on how to write a post. Until then though, a couple quick things. Look to the right when you are writing an article and you’ll see some options with ‘+’ symbols to the right. Click the ‘+’ next to Categories, then select the category for your post. The other major change is that you can upload files on the same page where you write a post. It’s just below the text area.

The other change, as you can tell, is that I’m finally getting around to changing the theme so it looks more like our ‘SunEagleClan’ pages. There are still a couple of little touches I’d like to add but it looks good enough now to put it into production as they say.

Any questions with the new look or upgrade just email or post a comment. Now, it’s back to homework. Finally, the last week of the semester is here.

Senses Challenge

I heard this test that tests your senses can make the smart look dumb and the dumb look dumber. So have a go at it and see where you fall. I didn’t do too bad, what makes it hard is that the questions are timed and I couldn’t figure out what the actual objective was on a couple of questions until most my time was gone. It takes about 10 minutes to complete the test.

More aspiring artist

I went to check on Nick’s old piece of art that I had mentioned previously was on display online at the District’s website, and I noticed that the page had been updated with more artwork. Here’s an example of one of the pieces on display:

There are 5 pieces total you can browse and view, which is four more than the last time I checked. The most recent two were just put up in February. I think my favorite is Monster & Tree.

Go Cowboys!

In the first round of state, the Camp Verde Cowboys narrowly escaped with a 54-51 win over the Bisbee Pumas. After trailing for most of the game, the Cowboys took a three point lead halfway through the third quarter and were able to hold on for the remainder of the game. The win puts the Cowboys in the sweet sixteen where they’ll face number one seeded Maricopa. “We’ll have to play a heck of a lot better than we did today to make it a good game” Co-Captain Matthew Freeman said after the victory.

Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag!

In other words, ¡Feliz Cumpleaños a Jere! : ) Good job getting born! It feels like we’re there in “sunny” Michigan on account of it’s been snowing all day. Josh wants to know if you got any of the gihugeous snowstorm that left 2 feet of snow in New York. . . Anyway, happy birthday. And hey, what better reason to celebrate your birthday than that it is in common with the day that Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania adopted the Gregorian calendar (in 1918)?
