From: Elder Joshua Freeman Subject: Surprise! Date: 21 March 2005 4:19:00 PM EST ÁHola! This past week was pretty interesting, with divisions, the baptism of the Hna. G—mez, and I got special changed! So now IŐm in Pinoz‡, which is Zona 1, and my companion is Elder Higbee. HeŐs from Cedar City and he came a change after I did. So IŐm excited. As for last week, on Monday night, we went to a lot of peoplesŐ houses, but with no luck as to them being there. But we did talk with the son of one investigator that Elders Gunter and Amelang had talked to last week, and we talked with him a little about the Libro de Morm—n. That went okay. On Tuesday morning, we had our normal meetings. And afterwards, we had lunch and everything. In the afternoon, we went to the G—mezŐ and shared a scripture with the Hna. After that, Elder GunterŐs bike was acting weird, so we left our bikes in the capilla because the guy that fixes them was already closed. After that, we went to VictorŐs and taught him the Lec. 3. His mom also participated, which was the first time that she had since we taught them the lec.1 the first time in December. So that was good. After that, we got fallar-ed a lot and tried talking to a lot of people with no luck. So then we came home. On Wednesday, we took Elder GunterŐs bike in to get fixed, but the guy wasnŐt there. So we walked all day. We went to Joel ArzamendiaŐs, and had to wait a little for him to get home, and when he did, he didnŐt have a lot of time, so we only talked with him a little. After that, we went to the OlmedoŐs and shared a little with them. Then we went to a Pizzer’a and got a pizza for lunch. In the afternoon, we went to CatalinaŐs and we read a little with her. Then we went to the QuintanaŐs and shared a little with them. After that, we got fallar-ed, and talked with a new person, then went to the church for Noche de Rama. We played a game of church-related knowledge, and it was pretty fun. And we werenŐt even the ones who organized it. Anyway, after that, we came home. On Thursday morning, we went and got the bike, then went out to Mar’a Auxiliadora. We taught the first part of the lesson 2 to Rosalina. It went pretty well. After that, we met a reference that the Hna. Gavarret had told us about the night before. So we talked to them about the Book of Mormon and left them one to read. At lunchtime, the Karns came to look at private medical clinics here where we could go if there was an emergency and we couldnŐt go to Asunci—n. So we took them to a couple of those. In the afternoon, we got fallar-ed a couple of times, then went to MartinaŐs and taught her part of the lesson 4 again. After that, we went to visit some inactive members, but they werenŐt home. So we went and checked out a reference from the Flia. Arzamendia, and taught the wife the lesson 1, and it went really well. After that, we went to VictorŐs and talked with him a little. Then after that, we went and visited the Flia. Taboada a little bit. Then we came home. On Friday, we did divisions with Villeta. I went there with Elder Gonz‡lez. HeŐs from Nicaragua, and he got baptized two years ago, and him and his twin sister are the only two members of the church in their family. We went to a memberŐs house that was pretty far away, and then had lunch. In the afternoon, we got fallar-ed by a lot of people, so we went and taught a lesson 1 to the son of an inactive lady. Then we visited a member, then went and taught the lesson 3 to the mom of a girl that just got baptized last Saturday. It went pretty well. After that, we went and had a charla with a new-member lady. It went well, and also her husband, whoŐs not a member, made us dinner. So that was nice of them. And then we came home. On Saturday morning, we un-divided. We had to go to a couple of peoplesŐ houses to make sure they could do stuff for the baptism. Then we went and made the program. After that, we got fallar-ed, and were on the way to another house when the APs called and told us that IŐd be leaving today. Elder Workman came from Paraguar’ to take my place, and another Elder came to take his place. So then we went by JavierŐs house because he was leaving for the weekend to be a local missionary with Elder Bell in It‡ Enramada. Then we went and had lunch with the Flia Fern‡ndez. In the afternoon, we were supposed to have Correlation, but no one showed up. So we got fallar-ed a few times and talked with a couple people weŐve met. Then we went by the house to get the stuff to take to the Hna. G—mezŐ baptism, then went to the church. Everyone showed up and it all went really well. After it was over, we went by the CaballeroŐs and the MarecosŐ to tell them that I was leaving, then came home and I started packing. On Sunday, we went to church and everything went fine with the confirmation. We had a little over a hundred people again, so that was good. And I said goodbye to a lot of people. In the afternoon, we planned and ate and stuff. In the afternoon, we went and talked to Raquel for the first time in a while. That was interesting. After that, we went and said goodbye to the Quintanas, Catalina and her family, the Vegas and Blas. Then we went to the church for a fireside that we were doing. We basically taught the first lesson, which talks about prophets, the Apostasy and the Restoration. It went really well even though not many people were there. After that, we cleaned up a little, then went and said goodbye to the Flia Mart’nez, the Caballeros and the G—mezŐ. Then we came home and I finished packing. This morning, we met as a Zone and the Hna. Garrido made us waffles (she has a waffle iron that she got from some Senior missionaries that went home). They were good. Then Elder Jackson and I came to Asunci—n (Elder Workman just stayed in It‡ with Elder Gunter). We had lunch, then Elder Higbee and I came here. ItŐs a lot busier than It‡; itŐs the zone thatŐs most downtown. So, here I am. Things should go pretty well here, and a new area is always exciting. ThatŐs it from here this week. WeŐll talk to yaŐll later. I Love You Guys!!! Love, Josh P.S. Mom, I signed the FAFSA thing. Also, that Spanish class thing sounded interesting.
