From: Elder Joshua Freeman Subject: Another week Date: 14 March 2005 10:55:04 AM EST ÁHola! This week was pretty normal, nothing really out of the ordinary. It did rain yesterday morning, so things have cooled down a little bit, so thatŐs good. On Monday night, we went and visited the Flia Ayala for a little bit. Then we got fallar-ed, so we looked for new people and talked to an interesting guy that invited us in then talked to us about how he doesnŐt want to listen to us. It would have been easier if he had just told us that at the beginning. But oh well. After that, we went and visited the Flia Mattesich and shared a little with them. Then we came home. On Tuesday morning, we had all of our normal meetings. In the afternoon, we got fallar-ed a couple of times, so we met some more new, interesting people. Then we went and got Estiben and he went with us to EvaŐs (the G—mezŐ cousin that we taught last week). We read a little with her. After that, we went to the just-about farthest part of our area before getting to the North Mission, which is a government low-income housing development called Mar’a Auxiliadora. We went in search of a new member family that just moved here about a month ago, and we jut now found out their address to be able to go out and look for them. It took us a lot of looking, but we eventually were stopped on the street by a girl who has talked to the missionaries in another city and wanted to talk to us, and she knew where the other family lives, and took us there. So we went and met them. TheyŐre the Flia Leiva. The mom just got baptized a few months ago and the kids have been members for a couple years. The kids are Lili (18), Leti (13), Fernando (11), Yanina (8), and Romina (5). So we shared a little with them and then came back and talked with the Flia Marecos to finish up the day. On Wednesday, we went and taught the Hna. G—mez more of the Lec. 4. Then we went by a few peoplesŐ houses that werenŐt home, and talked to a reference that we had gotten a while ago. Then she told us to visit her neighbors, so we went and taught them a lesson 1. It went pretty well. Then we went and had lunch with the Flia Vega. For some reason, they just started coming to church again and everything, so thatŐs good. In the afternoon, we went to CatalinaŐs and shared a little with her. Then we went to MartinaŐs and taught her and Francisco more of the lesson 4. Then we got fallar-ed a couple of times, so we had time to look for more new people, but with not too much luck. Then we went to the church for Consejo de Rama and Noche de Rama. Those were both pretty normal. And then we came home. On Thursday morning, we were going to help the MarecosŐ cut their grass, but they decided not to do it until Saturday. So we went and talked with Joel Arzamendia. HeŐs about 19, I think, and the rest of his family are members, but I guess the missionaries never taught him. So we taught him the lesson 1 and it went really well. After that, we went and talked with Clides and Milciades before going to the Hno. OscarŐs for lunch. In the afternoon, we went to the Flia. QuintanaŐs and read a little with them. Then we went and taught another lesson 1 to a guy that we had met earlier in the week. It went okay. After that, we went to the GarridoŐs and helped them clean up their garden, or rather, the land where theyŐre going to put their garden. That was fun. After that, we went and read with Liz, who we had met last week, the sister-in-law of Saturnino. She has funny kids. After that, we came home. On Friday, we went out to Mar’a Auxiliadora again, and on our way, happened to see another member kid that lives out there. So we talked with his mom, whoŐs not a member, and then went on our way to the Flia LeivaŐs. We taught a lesson 1 to Rosalina, the girl that had stopped us on the street. SheŐs about 16. It went pretty well. After that, we stopped by a few other peoplesŐ houses, but with no luck. So we went to the LargostaŐs and had lunch with them like normal. In the afternoon, we went to CatalinaŐs and taught her the Word of Wisdom. Then we went and finished teaching the lesson 4 to the Hna. G—mez. That went fine. After that, we went and visited Nilson, then went and got Estiben. He went with us to visit Eva, but she wasnŐt home, so we went around and talked to a few new people. Then we went back to the Mart’nezŐ before going to the MarecosŐ and sharing a little with them. Then we came home. On Saturday morning, we went to the MarecosŐ to help cut their grass and found out instead that theyŐre moving back to her momŐs house (where Liliana was while Mariano was in Argentina). So we helped them do that instead. Then we went to VictorŐs and taught him the lesson 1 over again, since the first time was in December. It went pretty well. Then we had lunch with the Flia Fern‡ndez like normal. In the afternoon, we did divisions with GuarambarŽ so that Elder Amelang could do the Hna. G—mezŐ baptismal interview, and I went to GuarambarŽ with Elder Woodbury. We had an interesting afternoon, with a lot of walking around and finding new people to talk to. We came back to It‡ and waited for the other Elders, then they went back home. Yesterday morning, I woke up at 5:40 and couldnŐt figure out why I couldnŐt get back to sleep, then finally realized it was because the time changed. Que cosa. It rained, so we didnŐt have a lot of people in church, but we did have quite a few investigators, so that was good. In the afternoon, we ate and planned, and Federico and Estiben came to do divisions with us. Federico came with me, and we visited a lady they had met last week and gave her the Libro de Morm—n. Then we tried visiting other people, and talked with Leticia, the inactive girl. And we read some with a guy named Amelio that we had met a few weeks ago. After that, we tried talking to more people with no luck, then went and visited the Flia Arzamendia. Then we tried looking for a few other people and then came home. It was cloudy all day and actually got kinda cold when the sun went down. It was nice. And that was it. We have the Hna. G—mezŐ baptism planned for this Saturday, so that should be good. ItŐs weird that the change is already half over. IŐve now been here longer than in any other area of my mission. ThatŐs interesting. So, yeah, things are going pretty well here. Have fun with Spring Break and everything. WeŐll talk at you later. I Love You All!!! Love, Josh P.S. Mom, I think I did send the tribe my grades from my last semester. Can you call them and see? If I didn't, I guess you had better send me that transcript request. Did you ever get the PIN for my FAFSA? Thanks for everything, I Love You.
