From: Elder Joshua Freeman Subject: Like the middle of winter, or at least the end Date: 7 February 2005 10:13:54 AM EST ÁHola! This week was nice, because it rained on Monday and then the sun didnŐt come out again until Thursday afternoon. So in between that time, it actually got pretty cold. It was nice. But then by Friday it was blazing hot again like before, but the break was nice. We had Zone Conference this week, so we had our district meetings on Monday, and after we were done, we all went and played soccer. It was pretty fun. When we went out working, we got fallar-ed a couple times and met some new people. Then we had a Noche de Hogar with the G—mez family. It went really well, and their brother thatŐs not a member and a couple of his friends also participated, so that was good. Then we came home. Tuesday was then a normal work day. In the morning, we went to MartinaŐs and taught her a little lesson, and then we went to CatalinaŐs and read with her. That went really well. In the afternoon, we went out to the GarridoŐs and talked with the Hna. about a reference family that they told us about. After that, we got fallar-ed and went to the QuintanaŐs to talk with them. Then we met up with Federico to get fallar-ed on a verification from a lesson 1 last week. Then we went to the Flia. AyalaŐs, and the Hno. Was laying tile, and Elder OŐBrien laid tile before the mission, so we helped him for a little while. Then we went to the CaballeroŐs and shared a little with them before coming home. On Wednesday morning, we went to the Flia. Mart’nezŐ and taught them the lesson 3 over again. Then we looked for a lot of people and didnŐt find them. However, we did talk to the Hno. L—pez for the first time in more than a month. We havenŐt been able to find them at home for a while. Then we went and had lunch with the Flia. Largosta, since we wouldnŐt be able to on Friday. In the afternoon, we were going to do splits with Javier and Leo Garrido, but Leo never showed up. So we didnŐt. Instead we got fallar-ed a lot before talking to Victor and then Casimiro about Sunday. Then we went to the church for Consejo de Rama and then Noche de Rama. Those both went pretty well. Thursday was finally the last day of the San Blas festivals. So itŐs nice to have those over so that people live their lives like normal. On Thursday morning, we were going to do some service at the OlmedoŐs house, but when we got there they had already done what we were going to do. So instead we went to the capilla and helped the Hna. Garrido clean and stuff. Then we had lunch with Oscar. In the afternoon, we did the splits we were going to do the day before. Javier and I went on the bikes, and we visited the Flia. Amarilla, who are semi-actives and another member and the Flia. Estigarribia, because they all live in the same far-out area. Then we met Elder OŐBrien and Leo at the Flia. OlmedoŐs. After that, we went and taught a lesson one to a guy named Dar’o who we actually met a long time ago but then could never find again but now we did, but at a different place. In any case, that went well. After that, we taught another lesson 1 to a guy and his wife that we met a little while ago. And then we finished visiting the Flia. Taboada. And then we came home. Friday was Zone Conference day. So we went to the office, and the bus rides were kind of an adventure. The Conference was longer than usual; it started at 9:30 and lasted until after 6:00. But it was really good. We talked more about the manual ŇPreach My GospelÓ. And our zone sang ŇLlevaremos Su verdad al mundoÓ (ŇWeŐll Bring the World His TruthÓ). It went pretty well. Also, since itŐs really hot, with a lot of sun, we got hats. Like cowboy-style hats. TheyŐre cool. In any case, after all of that, we finally got home around 8:30, so we went and talked to the Flia. Quintana, and they said theyŐd be there on Sunday no matter what. And then we came home. It ended up that on Sunday, „a Rosa came, but her husband didnŐt. Que cosa. On Saturday morning, we went out to MartinaŐs and taught her the lesson 3 again. Then we went to the G—mezŐ and shared a little with them, then went to the Fern‡ndezŐ for lunch like normal. In the afternoon, we got fallar-ed, so we went to CatalinaŐs and talked to her about the Libro de Morm—n and everything that you will know when you know itŐs true (ie: the Church is true). It went really well, and she came to church with her kids. After that, we taught a 1» lesson to a guy we met earlier in the week named JosŽ. After that we went to Las Piedras and visited the Flia. Silvero, and also Angela Quintana and her niece Griselda that we havenŐt talked to for a loooong time. So that was good. Also we visited Diosnel. HeŐs working every day, so thatŐs kinda tough. After that, we came home and stopped and talked to Daniel on the way. Yesterday, there were 91 people in church, and a lot of investigators. So that was really good. And the meetings went well. After church, we came home and ate and planned, and then took our clothes to Pte. Silvero at the church, and went and then got fallar-ed. Then we had to hurry and go to Paraguar’ for a baptismal interview with the cousin of a member. The walk to their house took an hour, so that was fun. The interview went really well, though, and they gave us food. So that was good. And then we made the long walk back and waited for a bus for about 45 minutes. Then we came home. So that was it for this week. Good to hear that everyoneŐs doing well. Everyone have a good week, and weŐll talk to you later. I Love You All!!!! Love, Josh
