From: Elder Joshua Freeman Subject: Whoopsx2 Date: 4 October 2004 10:33:44 AM EDT ÁHola! Sorry about the lack of an email last week. I thought it had sent, but I guess it fooled me. IÕll see if I can send it again (I saved most of it because last week was really rainy/thundery) when weÕre at that computer place again (right now weÕre in a different place). But the highlight of the week was Saturday, in which we did the Amar es Servir service project in the morning and had the baptism of the Flia. Portillo (except Miriam) that night. That went really well. But yeah, I was practically done with my email and then accidentally touched the cord with my foot, and the computer restarted, so this week will be a bit briefer than usual. Most of the week was spent getting fallar-ed anyway, even more than usual. Last Monday, it rained all day (actually, until Wednesday), so we walked around most of the night. We got fallar-ed, but did get in a couple of charlas still, so that was good. I almost lost my shoe a couple of times though. On Tuesday morning, we had to go to Zone Meeting in San Ignacio, and Pte. Gavarret came to do our entrevistas, and also the APs came. And after the meeting, the Hna. Kleven made us all spaghetti and stuff for lunch. It was really good. In the afternoon, we got fallar-ed and got in some reactivation and a charla with the Flia. Portillo. That went pretty well. On Wednesday, we got in charlas with relatives of members, which went okay, and got fallar-ed a couple other times. And we had lunch with the Flia. Acosta. In the afternoon, Pte. Berdejo went with us to teach the ch. 6 to Celso, and that went pretty well. After that, we talked to a few members about references for us, and had charlas for New Members with the Flia. Albarenga and Estela and her family. Those went well. On Thursday morning, we looked for a couple of references and got in a couple of charlas. And we had lunch with the Flia. Villalba (the girl, Alicia, is a member, and her grandparents are the ones that recently got married). That was good. In the afternoon, we got in some reactivation, and the Hna. Balbina went with us to visit some people. Then we got fallar-ed a couple of times and got in a couple of ch. 1 verifications before Noche de Rama. On Friday morning, we went and talked with the Flia. Vera, and then went to the Flia. ArceÕs to do some service cleaning their yard and cutting firewood. The Hna. Told us when we got there that the Hno. Had left to Argentina that morning to work. Until Christmas. That was a shocker. After we were done working, we ate with them, and then came home and studied. In the afternoon, we had citas lined up for every hour, and of course they all fallar-ed us. So we found a couple new people, and did get in a couple of charlas with other investigators. Then we finished by going to the PortilloÕs and starting the Red de Contactos (remember? ItÕs a game to get them to think of people to refer to us). That went pretty well. On Saturday, we went to the capilla to do a little painting continuing what we were doing last week. Then we went and got fallar-ed a couple times and found a whole lot of new people. Not even the inactives wanted to talk to us. We did talk to one inactive lady that was an alcoholic when I got here, but now she said she realized in all that time that she needed to get spiritually stronger, so she wants to talk to us more often. That was the high point of the day. We had lunch with the Flia. Albarenga, and that was really good. In the afternoon, the Hna. Alejandra went with us to talk with Celso. That went pretty well, and we set up his baptism for next Saturday (he hadnÕt come to church the Sunday before, so we decided to wait). After that, we found a new inactive, and got fallar-ed a few times, and found more new people. It wasnÕt really a fun day. On Sunday morning, there was confusion, because some people had told us that the time would be changing (like for Daylight Savings), so we changed, but it turned out that it really didnÕt. Church went okay, just with not very many people. In the afternoon, we made our own lunch and studied at home. In the afternoon, we got fallar-ed more and visited the Hna. Asunci—n. And we met a couple references. After that, we went to the VeraÕs because it was the Hna.Õs birthday, and she made us food (interesting how that works). It was garpincho, which is that huge rat-ish animal also known as a capybara (thereÕs a picture of one on the website). It was pretty good. After that, we went to the PortilloÕs and continued with their Red de Contactos. So, thatÕs the way it is. Today we have to go to Encarnaci—n again for Zone Conference, so that will be good. ThatÕs cool about the new Apostles. We didnÕt get to see or hear any of General Conference, because the nearest capilla with a satellite dish is in Encarnaci—n, 4 hours away. But I guess weÕll get to see the Priesthood and Sunday morning sessions in a few weeks, if IÕm still here (next week is change weeks, and this time one of us has to go). So weÕll see. In any case, thanks everyone for everything. Hope you all have a good week and keep working hard. I Love You All!!!! Love, Josh
