From: Elder Joshua Freeman Subject: A week Date: 9 August 2004 10:38:43 AM EDT ÁHola! So. School's already going to start again? Isn't it a little soon? Anyway. This week was like last week, it was hot again by Wednesday and then it rained a little and was cold on the weekend. Somehow it always ends up being cold on Sunday no matter how or when it's hot during the week. I think it's a test. But yeah. This week was a lot like last week, a lot of finding people and a lot of booting people that we found last week off the list. On Monday night, we got fallar-ed a couple times, and then went and talked with the Flia. Ben’tez. The mom went to Argentina for some medical tests or something like that. But yeah. After that, we went to do a ch. 1 verification and they had just gotten their book back from another guy that was with us during the first charla. So we read with them a little and recommitted them to pray. Then we went by a couple other peoples' houses before coming home. On Tuesday morning, we had our normal district meeting and then went and talked with an old investigator and read with Serveriano, another investigator. Then we went and ate at a place at the terminal where Delia works. In the afternoon, we went to Emma y Selso's and talked about them coming to church, and Selso said he would, and he did. That was nice. After that, we made a couple of contacts and then went to Carlos the inactive's and read a little with him. After that, we went and talked with the Hna. Nelly and her family, and then went and got fallar-ed by a family we met last week and had planned on teaching a charla 1 to. So then we made more contacts, and talked with a guy whose family we taught the charla 1 to last week. He didn't want to read the Book of Mormon because he seemed to not want to find out it's true and then have to change. It was pretty sad. After that, we went to the Flia. Albarenga's and found out that Nelson and his mom decided that he didn't want to listen anymore, I think because of pressure from neighbors. So that was not too exciting to find out. That was it for Tuesday. On Wednesday, we got fallar-ed, and then went to CŽsar's. Good thing too, because he decided to go work in the campo and was leaving in a half hour. He said he plans on being back around the end of the year. So, that was another bright spot on the week. After that, we went to Emilce y Miguel's and we shared a little there, and then went and made a couple other contacts before going to the Acosta's for lunch. One guy basically told us that for him, the purpose of life is to eat, drink and be merry. And bet on races. Que cosa. In the afternoon, we went and talked with Cesario about faith and works. After that we had lots of time to make more contacts, which we did. We did get in a charla 1 that went okay. After that, we went and talked to Catalina, who we taught the charla 1 two Sundays ago. The rest of her family listened this time, which was good. So we talked again about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. Then we went to the Flia. Arce's to find out when to come and help clean their well. Tomorrow. As in Thursday. After that, we got fallar-ed, and then came home. On Thursday morning, we went and talked to a reference guy that spent ten minutes telling us he was too busy to talk to us, and will be until December por all’. Oh well. After that, we went to the Flia. Arce's to help clean out their well. It's about 8 meters deep. The cleaning process consisted of just taking out water as fast as possible, and then lowering down his son Pedro to get all the stuff that had been dropped down there. Then it was my turn, being the smallest of the big people. So the Hno. and Elder Webb let me down, and then started hauling out mud and dirty water for a while, and then they brought me back up. It was a pretty cool experience. And when we were done, we ate hot dogs with them. Then we came home and studied and made cookies for later on in the night. In the afternoon, we got fallar-ed again and then made some contacts, and taught a charla 1 to a guy whose wife we found last week. After that, we went and set up a cita with another contact we had made, and then went to the Hna. Estela's and had a Noche de Hogar with them. It went really well. And Cristina told us she was probably going to leave this weekend, which she did, on Saturday. So I hope everything turns out well from that. After that, we went to the Hna. Silva's to pick up the kids, and then went to Noche de Rama. We played Pictionary, and it went pretty well. On Friday morning, we got fallar-ed again and then went and talked with Adriana, and then Emili. Then we tried talking to a couple other people before going to lunch with the Flia. Garcia (the Hna. Guicela's family). After that, we went to the Flia. Albarenga's, because Tasiana turned 8. And we talked a little with them before coming home to study. In the afternoon, we started working on a poster that we're going to do for an exposition that the zone's going to do, rotating the posters everyone makes from place to place. We didn't get too far before we had to go to citas. And then of course we got fallar-ed. Twice. So, we made more contacts, and met a family that was really nice, but they teach and live in the campo all the time except for the end of every month and during breaks. After that, we went out to the Flia. Morel's and had a good Noch de Hogar with them. Then we came home. On Saturday, we went and got the mail, and then went and got fallar-ed. So we dropped by the Flia. Berdejo's, and then the Hna. Sunci—n's. Then we got fallar-ed more and then taught a charla 1 to a guy that was sitting outside his house. Then we came home and ate and studied. In the afternoon, we took the Hna. Alejandra with us to Emma y Selso's and started teaching them the 3» charla. That went okay. After that, we got fallar-ed and made more contacts. Then we went to Cesario's and taught him the first part of the 2» charla. Then we had to go to another couple of citas, and got fallar-ed, and tried talking to other people we've already met, which didn't turn out. After that, we decided to clap one more house, and the guy said that he was too busy, but that the missionaries used to visit his brother around the corner. So we went and talked to him and he was a really nice guy. So that was a nice way to end the night. Yesterday morning was pretty cold, but we still had an okay number of people in church. For it being cold. We ended up having to teach the jovenes, because the teacher was in Asunci—n. We just had them all share their favorite scripture. It went really well. After church, we came home and studied, and then went to the Flia. Arce's to eat with them. Then we went and visited the Hno's cousin, who is an inactive lady we met the other day, and we met her and her family. After that, we went and got fallar-ed more, and then went and talked to Adriana, but her mind was somewhere else. And we talked with Sonia about a Noche de Hogar for tonight. After that, we went and visited the Hna. Balbina, and then got fallar-ed again before coming home to work more on our poster. As’ es. This morning, it's pretty cold again, but we're pretty sure we know what's going to happen later in the week, weather-wise. But yeah. Mom, I should be getting that card this week, the office is a little slow in sending it. But yeah. Have they called new Apostles yet? Just wondering. But yeah. Thanks everybody for everything. Have fun in school Steve, Matt, and Ti. And Mom. I Love You All!!!! Love, Josh
