From: Elder Joshua Freeman Subject: One full week Date: 31 May 2004 11:09:58 AM EDT ÁHola! How are you all doing? Things are all going pretty well here. We live right next door to a Evangelico church, and for some reason, they had meetings every single night this week. And their meetings involve lots of yelling into microphones and loud music, and they sometimes last until 10:00 at night. So that's always fun. Anyway, this week was pretty full of stuff. Yeah. On Monday night, we went and visited Cristina. After that, we visited a couple of member girls, and then had a Noche de Hogar with the Flia. Acosta (Pablo's family) and Nelli and Sonia. The Acostas have 5 kids, all sons, between 11 and 20 years old, por alli. But yeah, that went well, and after that, we came home. On Tuesday morning, we went out looking for a couple people that weren't home, and we talked to a guy who has the 1» charla, but he didn't really want to listen, and he said he has enough blessings and doesn't need any more. That was interesting. After that, we went and talked to a couple named Basilio y Cristina. They have 2 daughters, and they're reading the Libro de Morm—n and really like it. But they didn't have a lot of time at the time, so we just talked to them a little and then came home and had lunch and studied. In the afternoon, we went out and got fallar-ed a couple times, then went and talked to a guy named Isidro, and we read a little with him. Then we taught a charla 1 to a couple of guys that were sitting out in front of their house. After that, we went and visited an old Hermana named Asunci—n. After that, we went and got fallar-ed a couple more times. Then we went and had a Noche de Hogar with Cristina and Estela and her family (that's the lady she lives with). Estela has 4 kids, Susana, Victor, Pamela, y Oscar, and Susana is baptized and Pamela is going to be. Pablo came with us and so did Javier, who is another of the guys in the rama. It was a lot of fun. On Wednesday morning, we went and visited a guy named Dany and talked to him about the importance of the Libro de Morm—n. We also tried visiting a couple of people that weren't home. Then we went to the Flia. Acosta's for lunch. After that, we came home and studied, and then had to go to San Ignacio to do a baptismal interview. We got there around 4:00, and I went with Elder Kennington. We visited a member lady and went by the houses of a couple other people, then went to the church for the interview and Noche de Rama. Their rama is almost all young people, like 15 to 25 years old, which is why Elder Kennington is the branch president. And their baptismal candidate, Daniel, is 17. But yeah, that all went fine, and Noche de Rama was fun. After it was over, we tried visiting a family, but they were about to leave. So we went and ate and then went home. On Thursday morning, we studied and stuff and I went with Elder Bell. He came with Elder Workman. We visited some inactives, and made a couple contacts, then looked for another guy that wasn't home. Then we met the other Elders at the terminal and caught a bus home. Once we got here, we ate and studied. Then we went by the Flia. Acosta's and found out that Pablo had to go to Asunci—n to get his passport (he's supposed to leave the 4¼ of June), so he had to leave that same night. After that, we went with Javier and taught the charla 5 to Cristina y Pamela. That went without problem, which is good. After that, we went and got ready for Noche de Rama. There were actually quite a few people that came, which is good. And that was it for our night. On Friday morning, we had a little District meeting with Elders Tippets and Garaguso. That went fine. After that, we went to an investigator's house, but they weren't home, so then we went to lunch. We ate with a part-member family. The mom (Gisela) and the 2 daughters are members, but the dad isn't. But he was still nice to us, which I heard he isn't with all the missionaries. So that's good. Anyway, in the afternoon, we went and helped a guy with some English (he just stopped us in the street earlier in the day), and then taught him and his "wife" the 1» charla. It went alright. After that, we went with Javier and talked to Adriana, and put the 19¼ of June as her new baptismal date. So that was good. And we ended the night talking to a couple more members. On Saturday, we went and gave Cristina y Pamela charla 6, and that went just fine. Pablo went with us, it turns out his passport didn't come through, so he probably won't be leaving until the end of June. But Pte. Gavarret told him he'll probably call him as a local missionary in the meantime. Anyway, after that, we went and talked to another investigator lady about the Libro de Morm—n and committed her to read and pray again. Then we visited an inactive lady, and got fallar-ed again before coming home for lunch and to study. In the afternoon, we tried visiting a whole bunch of different people, but not many were home. We did visit the Hna. Magna, another member. Then we went and met the other Elders on their side to do a baptismal interview. While we were there, the power went out a couple times. It didn't make much difference, since we were outside, but still. After that, we went and visited/met some more members, and then we went home. On Sunday, we went to church. We have our meetings at 8:30, and starting next week, the Rama 1 is going to use our building too in the afternoon, because theirs is being remodeled and made bigger. Anyway, church went pretty well, and there was a good number of people there. After it was over, we went and ate lunch with the Flia. Arce, another member family. That was pretty good. Then we came home and studied. After that, we went and had Correlation meeting with Pablo. After that, we went with the Hna. Asunci—n to meet one of her friends. She wasn't feeling good, though, so we didn't give her the charla 1. Yet. After that, we went with Hno. Berdejo, who is the 2¼ consejero de la rama, to visit an alcoholic inactive lady. That was interesting, but it turned out alright in the end. After that, we visited 2 more member families, the Flia. Blanco and the Flia. Ben’tez (Javier's family). Then we went home and studied/planned. And that was our week. Today we're going to Encarnaci—n for Zone Conference tomorrow. That should be fun. I have a question Mom, have you heard anything from Wells Fargo? 'Cause my ATM card expires at the end of June, and I would like a new one. Do I have to do anything for that? Also, thanks Liss for the email. I'll write you back soon. Yeah. Hope everyone's doing well, and have a good week. I Love You!!! Love, Josh
