From: Elder Joshua Freeman Subject: Just kidding Date: 10 May 2004 2:10:17 PM EDT ÁHola! Yeah, so the cold weather last week, it was just a big hoax. It's hot again. But it's not nearly as hot as it was about two months ago, so that's good. It was nice talking to the at home people yesterday. And it's been crazy to start thinking that I'm already on the downhill side of the mission. Weird. But hey, on to the week. On Monday night, Pte. Borba invited usto have Family Home Evening with them, and the other Elders, and we went and made pancakes, with maple syrup- Elder Workman has concentrate- which is the real reason he invited us over. So we went and talked to a couple of people, and then went and did that. It was a lot of fun, and then we came home. On Tuesday morning, we had our meetings like normal. The new zone is pretty cool. There were only a couple of people that came that I didn't already know. After the meetings, I got to talk to Elder Mello (he's Uruguayo, and he came with me), who replaced me in Villarrica, and just came here from there. They actually baptized a few of the people that we were teaching while I was there, so that was neat to hear. After lunch and everything, we went out and got fallar-ed a couple of times, but did get to talk to a few other people that we had been trying to find for a few days. Then we went to Nimia y Noelia's and taught them charla 4. It went pretty well. After that, we had another cita, but we got fallar-ed, so then we went home and studied. On Wednesday morning, we went and saw Jorge. Then we taught a charla 1 to a guy that we met last week, and after that we clapped until lunch. We went to the Flia. Ram’rez's house and we made French Toast with them. THat was pretty fun. In the afternoon, we went to the Hna. Irene's and we talked to her about coming to church, since she never does it. After that, we went and got fallar-ed a couple times. Then we talked to Richard y Juana (we taught them a charla 1 2 weeks ago, and they had a LdeM from before, but they couldn't find it.) and took them a Libro de Morm—n. Then we went to the church for Consejo de Rama. Then we went and ate a little and then came home. On Thursday morning, we went out and made some contacts and then went and talked to Kike. In the afternoon, we went out and got fallar-ed a couple times (are you seeing a pattern here?), but then went out and taught a charla 1 and then had the privilege of talking to some Jehova's Witnesses, whose main message was, If what I said offends you, sometimes the truth hurts, I had a few things I wanted to say to him, but didn't. After that, we went and talked to some other investigators, and an inactive lady and her husband that we met last week. Then we went to AndrŽs' house and taught them the first part of charla 3. We didn't finish because everyone was falling asleep, including us. So we went home and went to bed. On Friday morning, we went out and made some contacts, then went and read a little with Carlos. After that, we tried out a pretty good restaurant that's really close to our house. Then we went home and studied. In the afternoon, we visited a couple investigators for a little bit, and an inactive lady. Then we went to look for someone that lives pretty far away that we didn't find, and then came back and talked to the Formigli's. Their granddaughter, who lives in Republicano, just got her mission call to go to San Diego California. That's pretty cool. Also, the Laneris have a friend from the North Mission (whose brother is serving in Provo-we met him in the MTC) who got her call to the Phoenix mission. How about that? Her name is Sister Figueredo. Anyway, after that, we went to the church for Noche de Rama. There weren't as many people because it was pretty cold, but it was still pretty fun. We left kinda early to go get something to eat and then came home. On Saturday, we had a charla 3 with Higuinio, which went well, and then went and made contacts all morning. Then we had lunch with the Hna. Romero and her family, and then came home and studied. In the afternoon, we went and taught a charla 1, and tried talking to a few other people that weren't home. Then we went to the church to help clean it for Sunday. Then we went to Richard y Juana's and talked about the Book of Mormon with them, and why it's important, etc. Then we went to AndrŽs and Martha's and we made pancakes with them and reviewed the Apostasy and Restoration. It was pretty fun. And that was all. On Sunday morning, we went by the Hna. Irene's to wake them up to go to church. And then we went to the capilla. It was really nice, we had 73 people and some investigators, and the Gavarrets gave really good talks. The rest of the meetings were normal. After studying a little at home, we went and had lunch with the Sanabrias, and then went to Roc’o y Leonardo's (that's the inactive lady we just met). Then we went and talked to another lady whose daughter we had talked to earlier, but she didn't have time at the time. To listen to a charla. So then we went to the Laneri's house and talked to the families. Then we went and talked to a few more investigators and came home and studied. This morning, we went to Centro and had a really good all-you-can-eat breakfast at a really, really nice hotel. It was good. Then we went to a museum from the colonial days, and then went and bought a few things. It was pretty fun. And that is all. Well, I hope everyone's having fun and being safe and stuff. It sounds like everyone's doing pretty well. So yeah. Talk to ya'll later. I Love You Guys!!! Love, Josh
